David E. Abel, 77, of Burkburnett, passed away on December 3, 2020. Services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 1 pm, in the Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home Chapel with graveside to follow. Visitation will on December 13, 2020 from 6-8 pm at Hampton Vaughan Crestveiw Funeral Home. Chapel service will be available on Facebook Live. David was born on January 4, 1943 in Galesburg, Illinois to Frederick Earl and Betty Louise (Brush) Abel. He graduated from Wenona, Illinois High School in 1961. David served in the Air Force from 1961 -1981. He married Vonseil Wilkinson iJuly 25, 1968 in Wichita Falls, Texas. David played music all his life, all over the country, including Germany and Thailand. After he gave his life to the Lord in 1982, he played the steel guitar in church. He worked for O'Reilly's from 2000-2015. Survivors include, wife Vonseil Abel, daughter Terri and husband Leon Thompson, son Randy Wilkinson of Wichita Falls, grandson JJ Bowles of Washington D.C. and grandson Zachariah Helmick. He is preceded in death by his parents.
