Mr. Julius Lavon Chaney, 71, of Florence, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at ECM Hospital after a brief illness with cancer. He was a lifelong resident of Lauderdale County, retiree of TVA Colbert Steam Plant and a U.S. Army veteran.

Visitation will be today, Oct. 4, 2007, from 6-9 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at 1 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel, with burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Officiating will be Jerry Campbell.

Mr. Chaney was precded in death by a brother, David Chaney.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Chaney, Florence; daughters, Cindy Chaney, Florence, and Freda Townsley and husband, Wade, Loganville, Ga.; granddaughters, Bethani Jones and Katie Townsley; sister, Dorothy Thomas; brothers, Carlos, Charles, Larry and Bobby Chaney.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Cox, Darryl Ahonen, Brad Chaney, Ernest May Jr., Donnie Vinson and Tommy Arnold.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Winborn, Dexter Brewer, Gene Sanderson, Joe Jordan, Carl Ahonen and Trigger Oakley.
