Funeral services will be held Sunday, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Trammell and Rev. David Troxell officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Lower Cal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Margie was born April 10, 1944, in Pine Knot, Kentucky, to the late William C. Stephens and May Belle Wilson Roberts. She had last worked in the cafeteria at Pine Knot Elementary School. She enjoyed her grandchildren and a good mystery movie and western. Preceding her in death is her parents, five brothers; Paul "Buttel" Stephens, Curtis Lum Stephens, Oscar Stephens, Walter Stephens, Clifford John Trammell, and Buster Perry and five sisters; Thelma Hughes, Ruth Kirby, Audrey Stephens, Savannah Gregory, and Evelyne "Chigger" Jackson. She is also preceded in death by an infant son James Daugherty.
Surviving family include two daughters Susie (and George) Oliver of Logan, Iowa and Joan Daugherty of Pine Knot, and two sons; Lee A. "Sam" Daugherty and Timothy (and Missy) Daugherty also of Pine Knot. There are two surviving sisters Betty Goodin of Pine Knot and Helen Pauline White of Covington, Kentucky. Margie was blessed with five grandchildren who were the light of her life.
