DOROTHY'S OBITUARY
Dorothy I. Hoel, 69, of Mayville, ND, died Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Dorothy was born in Duluth, MN on June 11, 1951 to Phillip and Catherine (Remore) Covell. Early on, the family moved to Fargo, ND where she later graduated from North High.
She married Martin Hoel in 1971 when he was in the Air Force. They moved to Langdon, ND and then to Fargo. The couple moved to Mayville in 1986. Dorothy started working as a Certified Nurse’s Aide. She worked at the Hillsboro Nursing Home for over 14 years.
She loved cats, over the years having several, currently taking care of three. She also liked crafting: painting on cloth, making beaded jewelry, knitting and crocheting tablecloths and sweaters; the more difficult the better. Dorothy’s pastime was watching movies and she had an extensive collection to choose from. She was known to stay on the phone for long periods of time, usually discussing anything and everything. She also enjoyed catching up with her family and their families at gatherings.
Dorothy is survived by her husband: Martin; daughters: Teresa (Phil) Niswander and Tracy (Larry) Lien; son: Marvin Hoel; granddaughter: Caitlyn (Darby) Walden; brother: Donald (Linda) Covell; sister: Diane (Don) Weeks and many loved ones and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Phillip and Catherine Covell; father-in-law: Marvin O. Hoel; mothers-in-law: Beatrice Mae Hoel and Vivian J Hoel; brothers-in-law: Keith and Robert Hoel.
Funeral Service: Will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Mayville, ND.
