W. H Barricklow Drops Dead
William Barricklow a very prominent farmer residing in Fillmore township, west of Chapman, dropped dead on Friday morning of last week, March 2nd, at 5 o'clock.
Mrs. Barricklow had not been feeling well for several days and he got up about 5 a.m. and started to make the fire. As he did so he sank to the floor unconscious and died a few minutes afterward.
The deceased leaves a widow, four sons and two daughters, namely, Harry, Lee, Arlie, "Dode", Grace and Pearl. He was born in Indiana April 28th, 1846 and at the time of his death he was aged 70 years, 8 months and 4 days.
The funeral was held Sunday morning at 11 o'clock, March 4th, at the family residence, the service being conducted by two Mormon Elders, who came from Springfield, ILL, to officiate, as the deceased embraced the Mormon faith a number of years ago.
Mr. Barricklow stood in very high esteem in the community where he resided for many years. He was an industrious farmer, a man of excellent habits and an obliging neighbor who will greatly missed.
