Tim was born on April 10, 1957 in Lincoln Nebraska, to Donald and Sharon Eckery. He attended Saint Johns and Pius X High school. He married Karen Brammer in 1977. He had two boys, Timothy, born 1978, and Christopher, born 1980. During his time in Lincoln he was employed by Metro Mail. He moved to Omaha Nebraska in the 90’s and then moved to Woodbury, Minnesota to work for US Bank. He was transferred to Jacksonville, Florida in 2012 where he later retired in 2020.

During his childhood he had many fond memories including spending weekends at Lake Waconda, swimming at Meadowdale Pool and playing in his backyard tree house with his younger siblings, Tom and Diane. So many things made Tim smile, especially the people around him and his beloved dog Dinger. Throughout his life he had many proud moments that included his High School graduation, the birth of his sons and joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. On the weekends you could find Tim shopping at one of his favorite retail shops or spending time on his back porch where he enjoyed his flowers and watching the hummingbirds. He was a spiritual man and was an active member of his faith where he devoted much of his time and energy.

Tim will be remembered as a devoted friend and for befriending and defending the underdog. He always had a smile and a great sense of humor. He enjoyed interacting with people of all ages. He had a flair for fashion, home decor, a large variety of music (except country). Tim is one of a kind.

Mr. Eckery is survived by his mother, Sharon Hitz, sons Timothy (Elizabeth) Eckery of Buena Park, CA, and Christopher Eckery (Melanie Brinkman) of Lincoln, NE; sister, Diane (Dennis) Brozek of Lincoln, NE, as well as his brother, Thomas (Gregg Widick) Eckery of Lincoln, NE. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Karen Kay and Opal Rose Eckery, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Donald Eckery.

Tim expressed many times his eternal gratitude to the lung donor who gave him hope with every breath and the dedicated doctors and nurses who cared for him at Mayo Clinic.

The family will receive friends at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel on Tuesday, November 17 from 6:00 - 8:00pm. Funeral services for Tim will be held on Wednesday, November 18 at 10:00 am with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery to follow.
