Donald passed unexpectedly on November 1, 2020 at his home in Sunset Beach N.C. Donald was born in Springfield on September 28, 1949 to the late Stanley and Elza (Tremblay), was raised in Springfield and attended Springfield Trade High School. Given his natural ability he went on to be a remarkably successful electrician who took great pride in his work and treated his customers as family. He was a perpetually happy person who found joy in each day and treated everyone as his best friend. In 1971 he wed Marjorie Podmore and together they raised their family in the greater Springfield area. Upon retirement he and his beloved wife moved to Sunset Beach to enjoy their golden years. Donald was an avid golfer since the age of fourteen. He especially enjoyed playing with his longtime friend Stephen Smrecek. Prior to the relocation in his leisure Donald could be found at the Dante Club participating in a game of Bocce or playing a round of golf. His most treasured times were those he spent with his family and friends. His joyful spirit and loyal ways will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Besides his devoted wife he is survived by his loving daughters Shalisa Keyes and her partner Paul Laprocina of South Kingston R I and Kendra and her husband Gregg Therrien of Feeding Hills. To cherish his memory, he also leaves the light of his life his grandson Jack Donald. He is survived by his brother Richard and his wife Sandy Keyes of Kalamazoo Michigan. He will be missed by his large extended family and his many friends. He was predeceased by his brother Ernie Keyes and his sister Doris Mercure.
Calling hours for Donald will be held Sunday November 8 from 4-7 P.M.at the Agawam Funeral Home 184 Main St. Friends and family will gather on Monday November 9 at 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home and process to Sacred Heart church in Feeding Hills for a liturgy of Christian burial beginning at 12 noon and burial will immediately follow at Springfield Street Cemetery.
