Bob Able, age 88, of Electra, Texas passed away November 4, 2020, in Lockney, Texas.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2020, at the First Assembly of God with Tom Medley, Pastor of University Methodist Church of Wichita Falls, officiating. Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Bob was born October 13, 1932 in Electra, Texas to the late Robert Felder Able and Minnie Lee Owen Able.
He graduated from Electra High School. Bob was a member of Texas National Guard, 49th Armored Division. He spent one year on Active Duty at Fort Polk, Louisiana and twenty-five years in the National Guard of Texas.
He and Lee Darter were married July 30, 1955 in Electra. She preceded him in death on April 21, 2011.
Bob was a member of the Church of God. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Texas where he was a 32nd Degree Mason for many years. Bob also was a member of the Electra Lions Club and was President from 1967 until 1968 and was voted Lion of the Year. He was a charter member of the Electra gun Club and Electra Muzzle Loader Gun Club.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, snow skiing and traveling in the mountains. He liked shooting at Gun Club Ranges. Bob loved listening to gospel, traditional classic county and western swing music.
Survivors include two daughters, Leann Ray and husband, Kim of Electra, and Tracy Able of Electra; sister, Barbara Parker; six grandchildren, Clayton Curry, Abbey Richardson, Alan Cadenhead, Jordan Ray and wife, Danielle, Katelyn Hamilton, and husband, Robert; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by granddaughter, Shanea; sister, Pat Sweet; brothers-in-law, Bill Sweet and John Parker.
Bob said he would like to say "Thank the Lord and My Mom and Dad for letting me be born in Texas and America"
