Gertrude J. Webster, daughter of Clyde S. and Ida Alma Hockett O’Hanlin, was born May 3, 1923, in Hutchinson, Kansas. She departed this life Friday, October 30, 2020, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-seven years, five months and twenty-seven days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jeanette Marcum; a grandson, Rick Perryman; and two great-grandsons, Zachary Perryman, and Kaleb Myers.
Gertrude is survived by two granddaughters, Sherry Perryman, and Kristie Myers, and her husband, Brian, all of Lebanon, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Raquel Perryman, and Kameron and Khloe Myers; six great-great-grandchildren, Korbin, Alexis, Jadelyn, Reece, Alleah, Zacaria; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She lived her early years in Kansas and then moved to Windsor, Missouri. Through the years, she owned and operated farms in Windsor, Missouri, Kansas and in other places in Missouri. She made her home in Lebanon, Missouri in the early 1900’s. She was always a devoted homemaker to her family.
Gertrude made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and she was a longtime member of Grace Calvary Church.
In her spare time she loved quilting and had made quilts for all of her family and friends and also made some to sell, too. She liked working in her garden, canning her homegrown produce and baking. She was steadfast in her convictions and was a strong and tough lady. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gertrude was a loving grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories she made for them during her ninety-seven years.
