He was an avid outdoorsman and a contractor. Since the 1940's he was freighting in northern MB and SK. During the winter he hauled freight by tractor train to Northern outpost from Ilford , MB and Lynn Lake, MB. He hired men to cut surveying lines in the bush and brought the first diamond drill into Fox Lake in 1958. Cyril collected all the rocks that were used to create the "Lest We Forget" Memorial Cairn at Lynn Lake, MB. A true Pioneer of the North, he was a dedicated father, brother and friend.
Cyril passed away April 22, 2005 at Lynn Lake, MB and is buried at Hillcrest Cemetery at Lynn Lake, MB
