Jonas Franklin Bjornson was born Sept. 17, 1921 at Swan River, Manitoba, to Jóhann Björnsson and his wife Helga Sigurros (nee Egilsson). On May 4, 1956 Jonas married Annie Elizabeth Graham and they began raising a family in Snow Lake, MB. In March 1958 Jonas was hired by Sherritt Gordon Mines, so the family moved to Lynn Lake, MB where they raised four daughters and son.
Jonas passed away on Oct. 12, 1980 in Lynn Lake, MB. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy (1956) and his mother Helga Björnsson (1976). Left to mourn were: his wife Annie and their five children, his father "Joe", his siblings, relatives and many friends. He is buried in Hillcrest Cemetery in Lynn Lake, MB.
