Quin died June 3, 2017, at his home in Golden, Colorado of natural causes. He was 87 and lived a long, love-filled life, leaving behind many family members and friends who were touched by his kind manner.
Quin is a veteran of two foreign wars, serving with distinction in both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He was born Oct. 29, 1929, in Galveston, Texas to Jack and Jenny Marston, but raised by his grandfather, Charles Kennon Quin, who was both a famous judge and mayor of San Antonio, Texas. “Judge Quin” loved his grandson and often called him ‘laddy.’’

From childhood to early manhood, Quin attended military academies, and then once he became of age, joined the U.S. Air Force to proudly serve his country he so loved. During wartime, Quin was a carpenter who helped build many of the military forward bases. During peacetime, Quin was a member of the U.S. Air Force Band, where he played the trumpet. Quin loved his Big Band music and passed on his passion to many of his kids and grandchildren.
A man of varied interests and talents, Quin was also the base champion ping-pong player while stationed at the Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. He retired from the military after 22 years of dedicated service to his country.
Quin then moved to Golden where he immediately fell in love with the Rocky Mountains, especially the color-changing months. Along with his second wife, Aryliss, Quin was an avid Denver Broncos fan. Quin married his first wife, Nita Faye Cross from Del Rio, Texas when she was only 14 – which was not unheard of back in those days. Before she was 25 years old, Faye and Quin had seven children – three sons followed by four daughters. Quin and Faye were married 12 years. He was a loving father who loved playing Santa Claus and surprising his kids with Christmas gifts.
Quin was married to Aryliss Ruth Enney for 39 years until her passing in July 2013. Quin was dedicated to Aryliss, providing for her non-stop during her final years of health challenges.
His family would like to thank the Lutheran Hospital medical team and staff at Gardens at Quail and Dignity Hospice for providing him comfort in his final months. A special thanks to Jane Flagle (CNA) who is like family. Rest in peace, Quin. We will miss you.
Quin is survived by his loving family; sons David Wayne (Cindy) Marston, Quin Howard Marston Jr., daughter’s Elizabeth (Becky) Ann (Mike) Marston-Klis, Susan Lynn (Scott) Powell, Carrie Ellen (Johnny) Reid, Sandy Jean Marston, step-son Mike (Mary) Enney, and grandchildren; Baylen Quin Marston, Jessie Ann Marston, Brittney Chase Marston, Kaitlyn Rene Maddox, Blake Matthew Klis, Johnny Calvin Klis, Joshua Nathan Powell, Sam Hunter Beasley, Sarah Nicole Beasley, Jason Ward, Jeffrey Ward, Julie Cunningham, Alyssa Wilkes, Michael Pyle, Bob Enney, Arthur Enney, Brian Enney, Michael Enney, Crystal Enney, and Eric Enney.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aryliss Ruth Marston, son Kennon Marston, parents, Jack and Jennie Marston, and step-son Arthur G. Enney, Sr..
A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, 7 pm in the Pavilion of Reflection located on the grounds of Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Ave., Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Quin's name to any favorite charity of your choice. Arrangements under the direction of Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, Cemetery & Arboretum, Wheat Ridge, CO.
