Doris Annis was the 4th child of Harry John Dunbar (1887-1980) and his wife Annis Eliza Kilburn (1879-1964). Doris married Virgil Edward Adams (1907-2000), December 25, 1936, by whom she had two children: Alice Doris (b. 1937) & Edward Virgil (b. 1951).

Doris Adams, 78, of Sciota Road, Whitehall, died Thursday (April 27, 1995) at the Gifford Elderly Care Center in Randolph, VT. Born on April 23, 1917, in Whitehall, she was the daughter of Harry J. and Annis (Kilburn) Dunbar. She and her husband, Virgil, whom she married Dec. 25, 1936, operated the family farm on Sciota Road, until their retirement in 1976. Two sisters Clara Dunbar, and Marion Dunbar Lethbridge; and one brother, James Dunbar, died before her. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Alice D. Blackwood; one son, Edward V. Adams; and a brother, Edward Dunbar; all of Whitehall; two granddaughters; two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 3rd, at 2pm at the Sciota Cemetery. The Rev. David Smith of the United Methodist Church will officiate.
