Ken was a well liked man and always had a smile for everyone he came in contact with. A loving father and the 3rd oldest of 10 kids born to Luther and Pearlie (FORD) Austin.

Ken worked for a short time in the Mines at Dean, Scott County, TN. He also worked a good many years for the Ohio Knife Company in Cincinnati, OH, from which he retired.

MILITARY: Enlisted in the US Army at an early age. Did not pass the Physical because of a physical problem with one leg being a fraction of an inch shorter than the other. Was released without being placed on Active Duty.

OBITUARY: Kenneth Willard Austin age 77 of Winfield, Tennessee, departed this life on Wednesday, January 24. 2007 at his home. Born April 7, 1929 in Ravenscroft, White County, Tennessee; son of the late Luther Austin and Pearlie Ford Austin, Ken was a volunteer at the Scott County Hospital for many years. Preceded in death by his parents Luther and Pearlie Ford Austin. Stepmother Cora Hatfield Byrd Austin; brother, Teddy (Ted) James Austin. Survived by his companion, Edith Walker Davis; daughters; Kenna Alyne Cole and husband Charlie, Pine Knot, Kentucky, Shelia Ann Cornett and Husband Ova, Booneville, Kentucky, Sharon Doreen Sirk, Pine Knot, Kentucky, Tammy Jolene Kegebein, Rome, New York Debbie Wesmoreland, New Orleans, Louisiana; sisters, Mildred Carlene Austin West Lowe, Norma, Tennessee, Norma Jean Austin Driggers, Jesup, Georgia; brothers, Luther Austin, Jr. and wife Shirley, Byrdstown, Tennessee, Robert Samuel Austin, Norma, Tennessee, Harold Lee Austin and wife Faye, Florence, Kentucky, Billy Mitchell Austin and wife Pat, Princeton, Kentucky, E. Nieces, nephews and many other friends and relatives. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, January 27, 2007 from 6pm until 9pm in the Chapel of West Murley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 28, 2007 at 2 pm in the Chapel of West Murley Funeral Home with the Rev. David Troxel officiating. Burial will be in the Norma Cemetery in Norma, Tennessee. West Murley Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements for the family of Kenneth Willard Austin.
