"G. W. Kelley Succumbs to Long Illness, May 28, 1933
Funeral services for G. W. Kelley, 80, a resident of Bowie for 24 years, who died at his home Sunday, May 28, were held from the First Baptist church Tuesday afternoon, May 30. Rev. Thos. J. Doss, pastor, was in charge of the services, and was assisted by Rev. R. L. Patterson of Denton and Rev. M. L. Locke, pastor of the local Nazarene church. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Kelley had been ill about seven weeks. He is survived by his wife, seven children, all of whom were present at the funeral, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and other near relatives. The children are D. W. Kelley and L. L. Kelley of Los Angeles, Calif.; W. O. Kelley of Clovis, N.M.; E. R. Kelley of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. A. S. Hodges, Henrietta; Mrs. A. J. Musgrove of Okla. City; and Mrs. Herman Harlow of Bowie."
