Pensacola - Sonja Katheryn Dawson, 72, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at her home surrounded by love. She was a retired school secretary and homemaker. Born May 27, 1948 in Hazard, KY, she was the daughter of the late Horace E. and Eliza B. Curry. She was a Roman Catholic by faith and loved attending Mass with her family. She was very proud to be a charter graduate of the University of West Florida where she met the love of her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas E. Dawson. She is survived by her daughters, Tara G. Dawson and Angeline C. Dawson, both of Pensacola; her brother, Robert L. Curry of Bonifay, FL; several nieces and nephews; and her "grand-dogs", Faith, Hope, and Love Bug. Sonja was a kind and gentle woman who was loved by everyone who knew her.
