Joycelyn Mae Alsup, age 17, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on March 9, 2019. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019, 7:00 PM, at Radiant Life Church: 2460 Powder Springs Road, Marietta, GA 30064.

Joycelyn was a freshman at Osborne High School and participated in JROTC. She was a very bubbly, sweet, and friendly girl who enjoyed dancing, singing, art, and crafts. She enjoyed the water and being with her family, especially her cousins, which she had many of. Her love of animals fueled dreams of one day becoming a veterinarian for zoos and wildlife. She planned to marry Aidan Blalock in the near future. She was baptized on July 14, 2018, at the Concord Baptist Church by Reverend Richard Wilkins.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Ann Butterworth, great grandmothers "Betty" Lee Hawkie and Anne Mae Thompson, great grandfathers Felix Hawkie and John Thompson, and Auntie Elizabeth Murchison.

She is survived by her parents, Billy and Cynthia Butterworth; her biological father, Wayne Alsup; brothers, Shaun Robinson and Anthony Butterworth; sisters, Selena Young, Alicia Alsup, Desiray Butterworth, Jaime Butterworth, and Diamond Butterworth; uncles, Scott Saunders, Ellis Christensen, Joey Hernandez, Joseph Woody, Eddie Higgins, Dan Dewrell, Uncle Ron and family, Uncle Dwight and family; aunts, Kerry Bingham, Syble Christensen, Meredith Christensen, Allison Woody, and Kim Potter; maternal grandparents, Henry and Alieen Thompson; paternal grandparents, Chris Adams and Dean Alsup.
