Mrs. Blackburn was the widow of Samuel Hilton Blackburn. A Mount Holly native, Mrs. Blackburn was a daughter of the late Leondius and Mary Jane Griffin Polk.
Final rites were today (Thursday) at 3pm at Inman Chapel in Tabor City, by the Revs. Grover Faulk and Leroy Ward, with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Survivors include her sons, Paul Blackburn and Robert Blackburn of Whiteville and Charles Blackburn of Ocean Isle Beach; daughters, Thelma Spivey of Dublin, GA, Louise Graham of Clarendon, and Edith Watts of Tabor City; 21 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
