Daniel is survived by his three sons, Richard Abshire of Sulphur, LA, Mark Abshire of New York, and Jason Abshire of Texas; his godchild, Jessica Boudreaux; his sister, Debra LeBlanc (Terry) of Morse, LA
Daniel is preceded in death by his beloved family, his parents, Fernest “Mann” Abshire and Ethel Monceaux; his grandparents, Paul Newman, Gladys Simon, Grace Bonin; his uncles, Jimmy Newman, Mervin Newman, Milford Newman.
Funeral services for Daniel R. Abshire, 64 of Morse, LA will be held at Matthews And Son Funeral Home in Gueydan, LA on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Farley Painter officiating.
Burial will follow in Abshire Cemetery.
Those chosen to honor Daniel as his pallbearers will be Richard Abshire, Keith Bonin, Quinton LeBlanc, Joey Richard, Grant Boudreaux, and Mark Abshire.
A gathering of family and friends will begin on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 2:30 PM with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM and ending at 10:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 8:00 AM until the time of his service at 2:00 PM.
