killed in London bombings

Richard Ellery worked for the camera chain Jessops at its Buttermarket store in Ipswich. He had moved to Suffolk from his native Southampton only three months ago to join a couple of friends and had settled comfortably into his new surroundings.

Richard James Ellery was born in Southampton and attended Wordsworth Infant School, Shakespeare Junior School and Bellemoor Secondary School in Shirley before studying at Taunton's College, Southampton.

His parents, Trevor and Beverley, still live in Southampton with their younger son, Tim. Trevor is a reader at St Winifred's Church in the suburb of Totton.

As news of the bombings emerged, Trevor, Tim and their vicar, the Rev Mark Prevett, drove to London armed with photographs of Richard.

Ellery was on his way to a one-day course at the Kensington branch of Jessops when he was caught up in the explosion at Aldgate. His manager, David Gunn, described him as "a very like- able young man who was always friendly and cheerful with both his colleagues and customers".
