Mary Aminthe Broussard, fifty-two years of age, a native of New Iberia and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on January 8, 2014.

Aminthe was born to Fred John and Helen Dronet Broussard, and later adopted by Rufus "Pop" Marin. She was a 1979 graduate of Mount Carmel Academy in New Iberia. She received her bachelor degree from USL, a Masters in Education, and a law degree from LSU .

She was a beloved physics teacher at New Iberia Senior High for ten years, before going back to school to obtain her law degree. While living in New Iberia, she was an organist for St. Peter's Catholic Church. After working in the private practice of law in Baton Rouge, she joined the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System as Assistant General Counsel.

She is survived by her husband of thirty-three years, Deacon Patrick J. Broussard Jr; her mother, Helen Dronet Broussard Marin; her daughter and son-in-law, Alissa Broussard Gaudet and Jacques; a son, Stuart Broussard; two grandchildren, Anna and Ellie Gaudet; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lena Lahasky and Andrew, Lydia Hoffman and Richard, and JoAnn Ligi and Joe; and a brother and 2 sisters-in-law, David Broussard and Carol and Kim Broussard.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred John Broussard; her adoptive father Rufus "Pop" Marin; and her brothers, Fred John Broussard Jr and Russell Broussard.
