Don and Cheryl and their 2 girls moved to Cashion in 1978. Don built the house where he also passed away. He completed all phases of the construction of the family home; foundation, rough-in, roof, electrical wiring, plumbing, HVAC, and all finish work. There really was nothing that he couldn’t do, nothing that he couldn’t fix. Don was always working on something or had a project going right up to the evening before his death. He was a proud blood donor, donating 100’s of gallons of blood and also volunteered on the Logan County Water Board for several years.
Don loved spending time at his house at Grand Lake and of course working on projects at the lake house. He loved spending time with his grandkids, bicycle riding, and grilling. Don is predeceased by his mother and father, special uncles Dr. T.O. Osborn, Junior Whitmore, cousins, Howdy Bill and Maureen Morrow.
Don is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cheryl Winslow of the home, daughters, Heather Winslow and her significant other, Greg Silvernail of OKC. Lindsay Winslow and her husband Burt Gowdy of OKC, grandkids, Luke, Madison and Kamdon (whose first name includes his grandpas), sisters Bonnie Winslow and Marietta Winslow Real, aunt Flora Nell Whitmore, Sister-in-law Mary Hall and husband Jerry, and numerous other nephews, cousins, past co-workers, and life-long friends.
A service for Don will be held Saturday, October 3 at 10 am CST at Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City with a reception following the service at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper. The service will be live streamed if you are unable to attend.
In lieu of flowers please consider sending a plant that we can enjoy in his memory or donating blood or a monetary donation to the Oklahoma Blood Institute.
