Alton J. Mohr, age 81, of Toledo, passed away Friday, April 30th, 2010, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. He was born March 6th, 1929 to Raymond and Elenora (Lemle) Mohr in Toledo. Al was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was employed with the former Mohr Brothers Bottling Company for 20 years and then went on to work with the City of Toledo at the Toledo House of Correction in Whitehouse, Ohio as a correctional officer for more than 20 years. He was a member of VFW Post #606, American Legion in Pioneer, Ohio and the Am-Vets and Eagles. In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Mohr. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 26 years, Barbara (Nagle) Mohr; children, Philip (Karen) Mohr, Steven (Theresa) Mohr and Judith Vellequette; step children, Timothy (Janet) Keefe, Patricia (Theodore) Kidwell and Thomas (Maggie) Keefe; brother, Robert Mohr; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. The family will receive guests Monday from 9-11:30 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Resurrection beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
