CARL L. SODER
STRATFORD - Carl L. Soder, 64, of Rural Route Stratford, died at the Boone County Hospital Friday.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Stratford Lutheran Church with Pastor Calvin Rossman officiating and with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery north of Stratford.
The Hanson-Stark-Welin funeral home of Stratford will have charge of arrangements. Visitation on Monday is from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. when the body will be taken to the church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. John (Shirley) Hooper, Sarasota, Fla.; two sons, Wayne Soder of Stratford and Lawrence Soder of Dayton, one sister, Mrs. Ruth Butler of Fort Dodge; and five grandsons.
He was born Oct. 26, 1911 in Stratford, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Soder. In 1939, he married Martha Davis in Lehigh.
He was a farmer and beekeeper in the Stratford community for the past 45 years, and was owner and operator of the Soder Honey House at Stratford.
He was a member of the Stratford Lutheran Church, the American Beekeeping Federation, the Iowa Beekeepers Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Stanley Soder in 1967 and one brother.
