John Edward Allen, 71
Dec. 29, 1939 – March 27, 2011
John Edward Allen, 71, of Bloomington, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 27, 2011. He was born to the late William Edward and Josephine (Brummett) Allen on December 29, 1939, in Bloomington. He was a retired Truck Driver and a Life Time Member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Bloomington. He played football at IU as a freshman. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, of Bloomington; his daughter of Roswell, Georgia; his two sons, one of Fisher, IN, and one of Ft. Meyers, Florida; two stepsons, one of Spencer, IN, and one of Ellettsville, IN; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; a sister of Bedford, IN; as well as many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 31, at the Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the First church of the Nazarene, 700 W. Howe Street. The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Entombment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to the 2012 Work & Witness Trip to Bolivia in care of the mortuary.
