Mrs. Ruby Carolyn (Stanfield) Austin, 83, of Seymour went to be with her Lord on September 1, 2020. She was born in Seymour on August 5, 1937 to parents Clifford E. and Vonna (Satterwhite) Stanfield. On March 7, 1958 she married Harold Collins who passed on June 11, 1970. Ruby then shared 47 wonderful years with Jesse Sherman Austin who she wed on November 4, 1972.
Ruby was a member of Walnut Grove Christian Church in Salem, Indiana. She was a long-time operator for the Indiana Telephone Company. Ruby was an avid doll collector and absolutely loved spending time on the dairy farm working with the cattle.
Ruby will be missed by her beloved husband, Jesse; 2 sisters, Iris Reed and Judy (Don) Ollis; sister-in-law Clara Stanfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; her brother Marion "Sonny" Stanfield; and her sister, LaVonna Cole.
Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 10:30 am with Rev. Daniel DeFriece officiating. Burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of service. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, face masks are required at all services.
