Christopher Lawson Ambrose, age 49, of Heathsville, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

Chris was a Ground/Maintenance Supervisor for Haynesville Correctional Facility. He was a member of Warsaw Church of God and was a huge Dallas Cowboys and UVA fan. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Chris is survived by his loving wife, Mary V. Ambrose; a daughter, Laura Brooke Ambrose; his parents, Wesley L. Ambrose (Darlene) and Virginia T. Hinson (Tom); his grandfather, the Rev. John A. Thomas; step-son, Hunter Newsome; step-daughter, Haley Newsome; brother, Jonathan Ambrose (Brianna); sister, Lisa Ambrose Giri (Nanda); three nieces, Madison Ambrose, Maya Giri, and Anna Joy Giri; and nephews, Dylan Ambrose, Prakash Giri, and Raj Giri.

A private funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2020 at Warsaw Church of God with Pastor Dave Metz and Pastor Jimmy Reamy officiating. A public graveside service will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital in memory of Christopher Lawson Ambrose via Bon Secours Richmond Health Care Foundation at 5008 Monument Avenue, 2nd Floor, Richmond VA, 23230, or online at www.bsvaf.org/makeagift.
