George Tirk, age 77, passed away on February 4, 2003, at Kaiser Medical Center in San Diego. Mr. Tirk was born on June 13, 1925, in upstate New York. He lived in Murrieta for 47 years. He was the caretaker at Laurel Cemetery for 38 years. He served in the U.S. Navy for two years, the U.S. Forest Service for 10 years, and Camp Pendleton Fire Department for 17 years.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; stepson, Don Rogers of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; step-granddaughter, Darlene Rogers of Mentone, Calif.; step-great-granddaughter Briana of Sand Point, Idaho; brother, Bill of San Diego; and sisters Ann and Buela of Troy, New York.
