Yvonne Kofoid was born on October 18, 1938 to Henry and Ann Kofoid in Bottineau, ND. She graduated from Bottineau High School in 1956. Yvonne continued her education at Jamestown College, attaining a Bachelors Degree. She met the love of her life Richard, at Jamestown College.
Yvonne was united in marriage to Richard Aasand on June 8, 1958 at First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. They were blessed with two sons, Steven and Dean. She taught school in a one room country school for a few years and then at the McHenry School. Yvonne was the school secretary when McHenry and Glenfield Schools combined until her retirement.
She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in McHenry and a collector of all glassware. Yvonne and Richard traveled to many auctions together, enjoying the traveling and each other’s company. She was an avid Bison football fan, rarely missing a game. Yvonne could often be found visiting with her friends over a cup of coffee. She loved her grandchildren dearly, she will be missed by all.
Yvonne is survived by her husband, Richard; a son, Dean (Deedra) Aasand; two grandchildren; a sister, Jan (Mike) McNally; two sisters-in-law Marilyn (Melvin Midgley) Saint and LaNeva Kofoid, along with many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her son Steven Aasand; parents, Henry (Ann) Kofoid, one brother, Ron Kofoid; two sisters, Sharon Hatloy and Linda Kofoid.
A Visitation will be Wednesday, August 12, 2020, 5:00PM-7:00PM at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.
Her Graveside Service will be held Thursday, August 13, 2020, at 11:00AM at Bethlehem Cemetery, McHenry, ND.
