On October 26, 1946 she married Clarence Brewer in Beaverton, they were married nearly 65 years. Together they had a family of four sons; Dale, Thomas, Gary and Randy. Thomas died at birth.
Betty was a valued member of the United Methodist Women's Group and the Ann Arbor Association for Child Development. She spent 40 years of child-care as a licensed child-care provider, retiring in 1990. She enjoyed sewing and crafting homemade greeting cards. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and her favorite theme was Peanuts characters. She collected over 1,000 ornaments and proudly displayed them each season.
Clarence passed away in 2010 at Whitmore Lake. Betty passed away on January 1, 2018 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Her three sons survive her. Also surviving are her two sisters, Jean Symonds and Wanda Mullins of Lansing, Michigan, along with her sister-in-law, Barbara Andrist of Beaverton, Michigan; 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Betty's family and friends gathered Thursday, January 4 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home Hamburg Chapel. Her community farewell was on Friday, January 5 at 11 a.m. Doug Olson and Loretta Job served as celebrants. Memorial and contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Women or to the family for future designation.
Betty is buried in the Lakeview Cemetery, Whitmore Lake, Michigan.
