Formerly engaged in the canning business in Cumberland County, N.J., Mr. Ayars came to the city in 1917 and was an agent for the New York Life Insurance Company here.
He was a member of the Knights Templar, Sunshine commandary No. 20. St. Petersburg lodge No. 139, F and AM Chapter No. 31 RAM, chapter member of the International Shrine club and Egypt Temple of Tampa, the National Association of Life Underwriters, Fifth Avenue Baptist Church and the local Presidents' Union.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Kathryn Bennet Ayars; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Weber, Bridgeton, N.J.; and two sons, Arthur Talbert Ayars, Philadelphia, Pa.; and Lt. Col. Benjamin Ayars, Ft. George G. Meade, Md.
Funeral services were held at Candor, N.Y. and burial took place in Bridgeton."
