Stricken with pneumonia Monday, Mrs. Amanda Hawkins Houff, 70, died at the home of her son, L. B. Houff, on the Churchville Road, yesterday morning at 8 o'clock.
Mrs. Houff was, before marriage, Miss Amanda Catherine Hawkins, a native of Augusta County. Mr. Houff died about two years ago.
Mrs. Houff is survived by two sons, Arthur E. of Waynesboro, and L. B. of near Staunton; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Maggie Houff, who resides on the New Hope Road, and thirteen grandchildren. Several brothers and sisters reside in the West.
The funeral will be held from Lebanon Church of the Brethren this afternoon at three o'clock, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
