David French moved from Kansas City, MO to Louisburg with his father, C. Howard French, and stepmother, Marilyn, in 1963. He had an older sister, Karen, a younger brother, Steve, and two step-sisters, Sandy and Leah.

Dave, as he was known to many, graduated from Louisburg High School in 1966. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #8 and spent his career in that field, working as a project manager for his father and uncle's business, Fairway Plumbing and Heating. Later, he was a part owner of General Plumbing and Heating, a mechanical contracting firm founded by Dave, his brother Steve and their father, Howard.

Dave graduated from Louisburg High School with the Class of 1966 and married Jean Marie Shea on April 20, 1968 in the Immaculate Conception Church in Louisburg, KS. They are the parents of Tim (b. July 1969) and Angela (b.1971).

Dave loved to fish, go boating, and take his family on camping trips to the lake.

David Lee French, 57, of Louisburg, KS, passed away Friday, September 10, 2004, at home surrounded by family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2004, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Louisburg, KS. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Louisburg. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the Park Lawn Chapel in Kansas City, MO and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

David was born July 31, 1947 in Kansas City and had lived in Louisburg most of his life. He served in the Army National Guard during Vietnam and was a member of the American Legion, Fraternal Order of Elks and the Masonic Lodge. He was also an Eagle Scout and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was a 30-year member of the United Association of Plumbers Union Local 8.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Jean French of the home; a daughter and her husband, Angela and Christopher Sweeny of Kansas City, MO; a son and his wife, Timothy and Kelli French of Louisburg, KS; a brother, Steve French of Spring Hill, KS; two grandchildren, Sophia Sweeny and Brenden Clay.
