Esther C. Abrams was born April 16, 1923 in Lansing, Michigan and died June 18, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia from dementia related illness. She was 92. She was the daughter of Theodore and Mary Dell Caldwell. Esther was a fantastic mother who for several years volunteered as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader in the 1950's. Her passion was duplicate bridge and her partners over the years were among her dearest friends. In 2012, she was inducted into the Michigan Women's Historical Center as one of the founding mothers of the Les Meres et Debutante Club. For more than twenty years Esther worked for the State of Michigan until retirement. She was a former member of Lansing’s Trinity AME Church. In her later years, she moved to Atlanta.

She is survived by two of her three children, Roslyn Abrams of Briarcliff Manor, New York and Dennis Abrams of Atlanta, Georgia. Her oldest daughter, Annette Abrams Strandmark, died in 2005. Esther has four grandchildren, Denise, Melissa, Alex and Samantha and four great grandchildren, Jaelin, Shatyce, Unique and Kristopher. Her life was rich and full and she was always surrounded by people who loved her.

Funeral services for Mrs. Abrams will be held, Friday, June 26, 1pm at the Riley Funeral Home, 426 West St. Joseph Street, Lansing, MI 48933. The family will receive visitors 30 minutes before services begin. Memories and condolences can be shared at rileyfuneralhome.com.
