Charles R. "Chuck" Bones was born to Bill and DeDee Bones.
A funeral service is scheduled at Autry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Gates. He will be laid to rest at Providence Cemetery with military honors.
Chuck served in the US Marine Corps for eight years. He served during the early years of the Gulf War. He served a tour of duty on the USS New Jersey, beginning with ports of call in the Mediterranean, including Beirut and ending in Hawaii.
He was instrumental in establishing the Marine Corps League Detachment in Jacksonville where he served as Commander for five years. From there, he began serving at the State level as an officer. For the last two years, he has served in the position of Commandant for the Department of Texas Marine Corps League. Chuck was asked to consider the possibility of serving at the National level but chose to decline that honor so that he could spend more time with his family, his beloved dog, Bear and his farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Terry Bones; daughters, Britney Bones, Shelly Knott (Jerry), and Holly Cook (Chris); grandchildren, Hunter, Trent, Autumn, Lance, Cheyenne, Brian, and Bobby.
Pallbearers; Larry Shreve, Dennis Strickland, Shannon Murphey, Stephen Hutson, Wayne Pelton and Shane Wright. Honorary pallbearers; Marine Corp League Det. 1381, Jacksonvillem Tx and the Department of Texas Marine Corp League.
