Television Host, Engineer. Born Grant Masaru Imahara in Los Angeles, California in 1970, he was best known for his work on the hit television show MythBusters (2003 to 2018). A graduate of the University of Southern California (USC), he received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in electrical engineering. He is also credited for making models in many features, more notable for his work as a roboticist in the redesign of an aged R2-D2 design in the Star Wars prequel trilogy (1999 to 2005), as well as designing the movement of the arms of the modern Energizer Bunny. Soon after, he was hired on the set of MythBusters, where he worked alongside Kari Byron and Tory Belleci. His main role was assembling robots and operating computers and other electronics that pertain to the myths. After the 2014 season, all three members left the show. In 2016, Imahara starred in the Netflix original series White Rabbit Project, where he would reunite with Byron and Belleci.
