Kathleen Elisabeth Allen was born May 1, 1939 in Grand Island to Ehm Jacob Sorensen and Flora Dora (Shiek) Sorensen. She passed from this life Sunday, Oct. 29, in Tulsa, Okla. at the age of 78 years. Kathleen was reared and educated in Alliance, Neb., where she graduated with the Alliance High School class of 1957. She then went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Kearney State Teachers College and then earned her master's degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla. Kathleen was married to Joe Wesley Allen in Alliance on Aug. 16, 1959. She spent most of her working life as an administrative assistant for Phoenix Federal Savings and Loans. Kathleen attended First United Methodist Church in Owasso, Okla. when her health would allow. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes, including working on puzzles, playing bridge, traveling internationally with Joe and spending time with her cat, Sugar.
Loving family members include: two sons as well as 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ehm and Flora; her husband, Joe; and her brother, Clair.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 at Pleasantview Cemetery in Pickrell.
Loving family members include: two sons as well as 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
