Harry Dodridge Burns Jr. was born in Lawrence Indiana on January 9, 1932 in the home that his grandfather, Dodridge Burns, built. He attended Lawrence Central High School. After graduating in 1950, he joined the U.S. Air force and was sent to Warner Robins air force base in Macon, GA. Following WWII, he was stationed in Japan. He fulfilled his three year military duty and then left the air force. He married Carlene Kremiller and they had two girls. Their marriage ended in divorce. He went on to marry Henry Hellen 'Hank' (Thacker) Burns, who was a school teacher in the Indianapolis public school system. They later moved to Kennesaw, GA to live with Hank's mother. There, they raised peacocks and quail. Harry passed away in 1994.
