Maggie Freeman Atkins, 77, formerly of Troy, NC, died Friday, January 23, 2015 at Blumenthal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greensboro.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 26, at Freeman Family Cemetery in Star with Rev. Larry Wilson officiating.

Born in Moore County to Jonah and Emma Jane Moore Freeman, she was a homemaker.

Surviving are her sons, Darrell Staley of Eagle Springs, James Staley of California, Ricky Staley of Eagle Springs, and Ronnie Staley of Eagle Springs; daughters, Marie Staley Nelson, of Greensboro, Betty Blake of Candor, and Patricia Tate of Aberdeen; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.
