This awesome lady was my maternal great-grandmother and her cat, Tom. I heard so many things about her while I was growing up. I don't remember much of it, but it was all good. She only lived a short way down the road from my grandpa's farm.
Emma, called Gusta or gustie, married William D. Battenfield 20 Sep 1874 when she was 18.
When she was 86 and she heard of her grandson, Stuart's, death in the war, she refused food and passed away.

THANK YOU SO MUCH MIDWEST MOM FOR SPONSORING MY GREAT-GRANDMOTHER'S MEMORIAL. IT MEANS A LOT TO ME!
