Charles F. Brooks, 79, 257 Manchester Ave., a retired farmer died in the Wabash County Hostipal at 6:50 a.m. Monday aafter two weeks illness.
He was a native of Upland born July31, 1885. His parents were James O. and Arminda (Jones) Brooks. Mr. Brooks' marriage to Agans O'Bryan occurred in 1906 in Hamilton Co. Il., and she died Sept. 12, 1955.
Survivors include seven sons, Arthur V., Charles F. Jr., James E., Carl, Wabash, Otis C., San Francisco, John W., Waupun, Wi., Benjamin I., Wabash R.R. 2, two daughters, Mrs. James H. Holden and Mrs. James Chelf, Dale, Il., three brothers, Oscar, Kalamazoo, Mi., James O. and Louis, Wabash, two sisters, Mrs. Perry Lyons, Muncie, Mrs. Roy Sutton, Muncie, 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Five brothers and one sister are deceased.
Friends may call at the Eddingfield Mortuary after 7 p.m. Monday. The body will be taken early Tuesday morning to the Gholson Funeral Home, McLeansboro, Il., where friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday and where funeral services will be held in Knight Prairie Cemetery, McLeansboro.
Mr. Brooks was affiliated with Mt. Olive church, McLeansboro.
