Billy Gus Vallas, 87, of Decatur, Mississippi, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at his residence. He was born Saturday, May 13, 1933 in Jackson, Mississippi.

Graveside services will be held Friday, June 12, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Susannah Carr officiating. Newton County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Vallas served with the United States Army of occupation in Austria, and a full time employee of the National Guard for a total military service of almost 42 years.

Survivors include wife of 46 years, Ruby Vallas, daughter, Sandy Comans (Wayne); grandchildren: Kristin Slay, Kasey Thoms (Josh), Kody Comans (Blair), Brittany Arnold; and great-grandchildren: Zach Slay (Jamie), Heather Arnold, Brennon Thoms, Posey Thoms, Clark Comans, and Roxie Kate Comans; and great-great grandchildren: Braiden Slay and Annie James Slay.

He was preceded in death by parents: Gus and Panay Vallas and son, Gus B. Vallas.
Pallbearers will be Josh Thoms, Zach Slay, Jeffrey Derris, Bill Goodwin, Jodey Johnston, and Larry Harms.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kody Comans, Clark Comans, and Brennon Thoms.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Building Fund of The Decatur United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
