Dorlas Eugene Abbott, 86, of Iberia, died November 3, 2003, at
St. Mary's Health Center (Jefferson City). He was born in Miller County on
December 12, 1916, a son of Jack and Alta (Cochran) Abbott. On September
25, 1935, in Brumley, he was married to Bertie Grethel Plemmons who preceded
him in death on July 28, 1987. He was a farmer and a member of Concord
Christian Church near Crocker.
Survivors include: two sons, Jack Abbott of North Kansas City
and Larry Abbott of Ulman; one daughter, Helen Clark of Richland; 8
grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A grandson, Kraig Abbott, preceded him in death. He was also
preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, Coleman, and Truman Abbott.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, November 7, at Rekus
Funeral Home in Iberia. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday
at Concord Christian Church with Bro. Lee Todd officiating. Interment will
be in Concord Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to concord
Christian Church Building Fund.
