Lyda Faye Coppinger Abell, 85, of Greenville, died Thursday morning,
October 16, 2003, at Presbyterian Hospital.

Funeral services are at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 18, 2003, at Family Fellowship under the direction of Coker- Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Blue and Don Coppinger will officiate.

Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.

The daughter of Tom Coppinger and Eula Horrocks Coppinger, she was born on
January 25, 1918, in Greenville. On February 2, 1938, she was married to J. D.
Abell in Greenville.

Mrs. Abell was a homemaker. She attended Family Fellowship and was a member of the Primetimers Sunday school class.

Surviving are her husband of Greenville; two sons and daughters-in-law,
Benny Abell and Georgia Abell and Bill Abell and Lynda Abell, all of
Greenville; brothers, Billy Coppinger of Wylie, Don Coppinger of Greenville,
and Thomas Coppinger of Sulphur Springs; three sisters, Margaret Mabry and
Sandra Tate of Greenville and Sharon Reilly of Rockwall; five grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Euclid Coppinger, Edwin
Coppinger, Kenneth Coppinger, Gerald Coppinger; and Joe Coppinger; and sisters,
Katherine Cunningham and Jean Freeman.

Pallbearers are Stephen Harwick, Brad Abell, John Gilmer, Floyd Voss, Keith Welch, and Tim Waldrep.

Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, October 17, 2003, at the funeral home.
