Delores graduated from Anderson High School in 1944.
She held a number of retail jobs throughout her life, and retired from Hills Department Store.
She was a member of Southern Heights Christian Church, the DAR, and was a volunteer with Operation Love. Delores liked to watch "The Lawrence Welk Show," but especially loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Delores is survived by her loving children, Chris Pike of Anderson and Dennis (Phyllis) Barnes of Winder, Georgia; grandsons, Ryan (Mary) Pike, Chad (Kim) Pike, Philip (Rachel) Barnes, Patrick (Stephanie) Barnes, and Andrew (Kimberly) Barnes; and eight great-grandchildren with one more on the way. Also surviving are her siblings, Kathleen Mock and Ronald (Barbara) Childers; and seven nephews and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Barnes; and parents, Hilda and Earl Childers.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Kelli, Jesika, Natasha, Vickie, and Edwina of St. Vincent Hospice for all their love and care of mom.
Services will be held Friday, May 22, 2020, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, with Rev. Bob Hendrickson officiating.
At a later date, another celebration of life will be held.
Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park.
