US Navy Veteran 1896-1900. During the Spanish American War he was a fireman second class on USFS Olympia, flagship of Commodore George Dewey's seven-ship Asiatic Squadron and at the Battle of Manila Bay.

Born in Rhode Island, per the 1930 Census, which notes he was a Spanish American War veteran, he was married to Elizabeth E., a native of England and three years younger than him. He was working as a moulder in the machinery industry and living in Westerly, Rhode Island. He appears in city directories through the mid -1930s. Circumstances of his life and death are presently unknown after that.
