Without much choice, Justin started his rodeo career at an early age and was crowned with his first buckle in 1996 as Jr Breakaway Champion. Justin’s talent forced him to compete on both ends and in the middle of the arena. Justin was one of few. He competed in calf roping, bull riding, steer wrestling, team roping (head & healing), bull fighting and with laughter bareback was labeled as the shortest of them all. Since the beginning in 1996 Justin achieved many of the goals. The last of his many goals set was to win the Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo All Around Cowboy in 2019 and he did just that. Justin won several other championships within these years including 2006 CBR Beaumont Champion. Justin has won numerous titles, tons of buckles, stacks of saddles and recipient awards. There are a few that tends to be a little special such as being crowned the 1st Africian American Champion Bull Rider in 2006 of a 77 year history (Teague 4th of July Rodeo), YMBL Bull Riding Champion in 2006 winning $10,000 in prize money which qualified him for the CBR finals in Las Vegas, NV where he finished 11th in the world along with being titled The Crown Royal King of the Month in 2006. Jrich had a special art when it came to the youth. They loved his presence. He was always willing to help others, he would give the shirt off of his back and would drive you across the United States for a rodeo. He had a gift to having a good time and enjoying life as god gifted it to him. In the midst of his rodeo career, a little twist of the movie star life was added as one of his talents. He starred in the movie “Bull” and had started another movie “The Harder They Fall”.
Justin was preceded in death by his grand parents, Caston “Shorty” Richard, Robert Lee & Ella Mae Williams, and his aunt Ruby Nell Williams.
