Jon Stephen "Steve" Biggs, 60, died Friday, November 10, 2006 at his home in Brandon. Visitation is from noon to 1 pm Tuesday at Lakewood Memorial Park on Clinton Blvd in Jackson with graveside service to follow.
He was born November 9, 1946 in Memphis, TN, the son of Harry L. Biggs and Celeste Hall Biggs. A graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School in Jackson, he later received his BS and Ph.D. in psychology from Mississippi State University. He began his career as a professor at State University of New York in Fredonia, NY. He later served until his retirement as a clinical psychologist and administrator at the O'Berry Center in Goldsboro, NC.
Dr. Biggs was an avid reader and ruthless poker player. He possessed a quick wit and made friends easily wherever he went. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Dr. Biggs married Judith Ann Robinson on June 8, 1969. She preceded him in death on September 30, 1989. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Celeste Hall Biggs. Survivors include: his father Harry L.Biggs of Brandon; brother Mike (Gail) Biggs of Chesterfield, MO; daughters Kristi (Jason) Broome of Raymond and Kathleen Biggs of Memphis, TN; and one grandchild.
