Clara E. ‘Babe' Hess of West Caln
Clara E. "Babe" Hess, 79, of West Caln, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of the late Harold K. Hess Sr., who died in 2001.
Born in Glenmoore, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Margaret Miller Evans.
She was an area resident all her life, and attended the Coatesville area schools.
Mrs. Hess was employed by Pepperidge Farms in Downingtown. Most recently she was employed by the Coatesville Senior Center as a food handler, retiring in 1984.
Clara was a member of the East Brandywine Baptist Church of Downingtown.
She is survived by four children, Marilyn E., wife of David L. Baldwin, of Coatesville, Harold K. Hess Jr. and wife Darlene Hess of Millsboro, Del., Margaret Wilson Taltoan of Coatesville, and Janine H., wife of David A. Stein, of Coatesville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Luton and Jane Race.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, at 11 a.m. at the East Brandywine Baptist Church, 999 Horseshoe Pike, Downingtown, PA 19335, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the East Brandywine Baptist Church at the above address or Heartland Hospice Services, 5 Christy Drive, Brandywine Two, Suite 103, Chadds Ford, PA 19317.
