Barbara (Grammie Pink) Brown passed away on April 14, 2020, after losing to an illness that she battled for many years. Grammie was surrounded by her loving and beloved family; and at the end of her journey she looked forward to a reunion with her son, Scott Finnemore, who predeceased her in 1992.

She was born in Portland, Maine, on August 30, 1943.

Barbara was also predeceased by her parents, Charles and Ruby Payne; her sister, Glenna Quimby, and her brother, Reginald Curtis.

Barbara graduated from Hampden Academy but lived most of her life in the Portland area; in later years she enjoyed living with her daughter Pattie and family in South Paris. In her younger years she enjoyed roller skating and bowling. She loved just being with people. When her illness forced her to stop working, she was happy just to be surrounded by her family and her cats. She will be remembered for her genuine kindnesses toward all and never had a bad word to say about anyone.

Some of Grammie Pink’s most fond memories were of time spent with the amazing children and parents from A Great Start Daycare. She adored them and they spent many happy moments together.

Barbara is survived by her oldest son, Alan Finnemore of Portland, Maine; daughter, Patricia and Sean Meehan of South Paris, Maine; daughter, Kelly Brown and Joe Niichter of Eddington, Maine. Grandchildren: Tori and Ben Blood of Gorham, Sean Michael Meehan of South Paris, Cody Brown of Portland, and Jameson O’Neal of Fort Fairfield. In addition, Grammie had two great grands: Caleb and Emma Blood of Gorham, Maine. She is also survived by her sister and favorite brother-in-law, Steve and Betty Trimm of Eddington; several nieces and nephews.
